Capt. Brian Calvert,
General Manager
Brian learned to
row a boat before he learned to ride a bike. Born and raised on
Puget Sound, his boating experience has taken him from Mexico to
Alaska. Brian has been a livaboard for over 23 years, the last
two on his 48 Selene, Furthur.
Moving to the San
Juans in the mid 80’s he started his yacht broker career. He
was the San Juan Sales Manager for Western Yachts representing
Tollycraft, Ocean Alexander, Grand Banks and other top lines.
Next became an owner of Friday Harbor Yachts and developed the
Selene Trawler line. FHYS was the world’s largest Selene dealer
for the last eight years.
His has experience
cruising from Mexico to Alaska, including two circumnavigations
of Vancouver Island, Brian uses his knowledge gained by
thousands of miles of cruising, professional deliveries and
continued study to help in the Selene Training Program. Brian
has served as instructor and Past Commander of the Friday Harbor
Power Squadron, board member and Fleet Capt. Of the San Juan
Island Yacht Club. He was elected to two terms as Commissioner
for the Port of Friday Harbor, were he had a renowned career as
defender of our marine waters.
Brian looks
forward to serving the Selene community with expanded services
at Selene Seattle. |

Howard Chen,
President
Howard is the
force behind the Selene success story. As the founder of Jet
Tern Marine, Howard has led the Selene team since the
beginning. In a continuing effort to provide the ultimate
experience to the Selene owners, he now has expanded into the
sales and service branches of the enterprise. This
revolutionary comprehensive approach will be of great benefit to
the Selene Seattle customer.
Howard is pleased
to be apart of the Selene Seattle team. He plans frequent
visits to the Selene Seattle offices and welcomes Selene Seattle
customers to both Jet Tern Marine shipyards in China. |

Jerry Todd, Yacht
Broker
Jerry is a
longtime northwest boater and yachting industry veteran. He
began his love of the boating lifestyle at a very early age,
cruising with his parents aboard the family’s 38’ Richardson on
the Columbia River system during the year, and along the east
coast of Vancouver Island in the summers. Jerry’s love of the
area continues today aboard his own cruiser
SEAWARD.
Jerry received
and gave practical training as the navigator aboard the USS Mt.
Baker in the US Navy.
After
completing his education in advertising and marketing at the
University of Oregon, Jerry joined Tollycraft Corporation as the
company’s Sales Administrator. In that position he helped
Tollycraft expand its US dealer network, and was instrumental in
the development of the popular 48 Tollycraft Motor Yacht and 34
Tri-Cabin models. Jerry also managed Tollycraft’s advertising
and marketing efforts.
After almost 10
years with Tollycraft, Jerry opened his own retail Grand Banks
and Uniflite dealership, known as Seaward Yacht Sales in
Portland, OR. The business prospered and a second office was
opened in Seattle, WA. After selling the business in the late
1980s Jerry held a number of positions in the industry including
a senior management position at one of the largest US retail
dealerships.
The lure of
high quality motor yachts has always tugged at Jerry’s love of
relaxed family cruising, and the Selene product line matches
well. He looks forward to
serving his continued clients as well as new clients from his
position with Selene Seattle
Jerry has sat
on various committees with the Northwest Marine Trades
Association and currently is a board member, has sat on the board and was a committee chair for
the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association, acted as the western
regional representative of the National Marine Manufacturers
Association Speakers Bureau, and is a past board member for the
Salvation Army, a position he has held since 1984.

Andrew Trueblood, Yacht
Broker
Andrew Trueblood grew up on the water surfing and sailing in
Southern California. His uncle, a shipwright and
circumnavigator, introduced him to boating at an early age. He
moved to Washington in 1981 after graduating from College to
take a job aboard a commercial fishing vessel in Alaska.
Andrew has 24 years experience in the marine business. He was
an owner/captain in the commercial fishing industry for over 15
years, operating in the waters of California, Oregon, Washington
and Alaska. He has been a yacht broker for the past nine years,
assisting clients in the sales of power and sailing yachts,
while representing Hallberg-Rassy, Pacific Seacraft, and Hampton
Yachts. Formerly, Andrew worked for West Coast Yachts, Seacraft
Yacht Sales and Adventure Yachts until he was offered an
opportunity to come on-board with Selene Seattle.
His many years of practical experience come from having owned,
operated, and personally maintained five pleasure craft and nine
commercial vessels over the years. Andrew works diligently to
provide a high level of service, cultivating long term
relationships with his clients and serving as a continuing
resource long after each sale is concluded. He has a deep
passion for the water and enjoys helping other people share this
passion. His customers appreciate his informed, upfront, and
energetic approach to Yacht Sales. Andrew is a Certified
Professional Yacht Broker.

Captain Bob
Bob started boating on lakes in Oregon with his family in the
1950’s, things have changed a lot since then. Growing up in
Oregon, graduating from Oregon State, and working in the family
business have provided an excellent background for his lifestyle
change in 1998 when he moved onto his boat, started doing some
extensive cruising, got his USCG Masters license and entered
into the Seattle marine business.
Bob has been doing deliveries, captaining and cruising the
waters of Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon,
California for the last 25 years along with side trips to the
Caribbean, England, and Italy. He has been doing training and
project management for new boat owners for the last eight years
and has been working as a rigger since 2002 installing and
servicing yacht systems.
Bob has joined the Selene Seattle team as our resident Captain.
He will be doing the owners training and deliveries. His
expertise, attention to detail and calm manner will be of great
value to our new owners.

Bradley Pilz,
Customer Service Manager
Brad Pilz has
been in the marine service business for over 20 years.
He began his yacht service career in 1984 and worked his way
through college maintaining yachts. After graduating from
Western Washington University Brad sold and serviced yachts in
Seattle. After a break he and a business partner started a
small service company that was to become Sterling Yacht center.
From the very beginning Brad has brought a "Can Do" attitude and
a "Hands on" ethic to all the projects that he is involved
with. Sheer determination and a focus on customer service have
always been paramount. He has seen his small yacht maintenance
company grow into a full service yacht repair over the past 12
years.
With his extensive experience and training, Bradley Pilz
is indeed a very qualified person to take care of the many
systems that make up a yacht.
Brad will be
working with all of the authorized Selene warranty outlets to
insure prompt and quality warranty service. He will be available
for hands on emergency service. Brad’s extensive knowledge of
systems and components will be of help to our customers in
planning their commissioning. |

Stacy (Sasha) Calvert,
Customer Service Office Manager
Stacy has jumped
feet first into the boating world in the last five years. She
has lived aboard part time, cruised extensively, taken
navigation classes, and been involved in all aspects of yacht
sales.
Benefiting from
her experience with the Washington State Department of Revenue,
Bank of America, and Assistant Office Manager for Friday Harbor
Yachts she brings extensive business knowledge to her new job.
As a senior stylist for Gene Juarez Salons, she developed her
sense of style and an instant warm connection to people.
Stacy has been
involved with boat shows, Trawler Fest, Selene Rendezvous’ and
two Selene Rally’s. She has helped in the decorating of many
Selenes. She is well known to the Selene owners and eager to
extend her help to all of the Selene community.
After setting up the
office for Selene Seattle and serving as the office manager for
its first year, Stacy will be joining the Service Manager,
Bradley Pilz to set up and manage the office of the new Customer
Service Department. The office will be located across the way
from Selene Seattle and will open December 2007.
