Selene Seattle
Was Proud To Announce The
SEVENTH ANNUAL SELENE RENDEZVOUS
APRIL 24-26 2008, AT ROCHE HARBOR
|
|
New Rendezvous Event
The
Selene Charity Auction was held Friday
night during the Docktail Party. We
selected a few highly prized gifts to auction
off. Proceeds will go to SoundWatch, an
island based organization that has provided
boaters with education on whale watching for
decades. We had the auction items on
display, one hint-- All Seleners with John
Deere engines will definitely want to be
there and bring your piggy bank!! One note, Be
sure to bring your plotting tools, pencil and
eraser to class on Friday.

The Seventh annual Selene Rendezvous was
once again held at historic Roche Harbor. We
anticipate at least 45 Selene’s will attend this
very popular event. Again this year we had two days of interesting classes, festive
parties, the ever popular “Trawler Crawl”, and
the grand finale awards banquet. We looked forward to seeing all the
Selene enthusiasts at the Rendezvous.
This year we were very excited to announce the
“Bonus Day”. We began the event on
Thursday with a special offering for women
skippers. Capt. Patti Moore of Sea Sense gave a “hands on” boat handling class for
women only.
We
had some incredible speakers planned this year
for the classes. Linda Lewis made a
presentation on Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:30
on cruising the Inside Passage, a trip they have
made each year for the past seven years.
As
in previous years, registration was on
Thursday the 24th. Friday and Saturday we
had classes from 8:30 – 1:00 with the popular
trawler crawl in the afternoon followed by the
docktail party hosted by the fabulous Ron and
Meagan Randall of Seacoast Marine Finance on
Friday and the awards dinner on Saturday.
Registration was $25 per person.

Selene Seattle at
Boats Afloat Show Jan. 24 TO Feb. 2, 2008 |
|
Selene Seattle was
proud to represent Selene Ocean Trawlers with an
extraordinary display. This year we had the unique
ability of offering three pre-owned Selenes at the show;
2 Tango a 2004 36 foot, Ina Maria a 2000 47 foot and
Quivira a 2005 48 foot. This was the world’s largest
boat show offering of pre-owned Selene’s. We also
had a beautiful Selene 59 and a brand new 53 on
display. |
 |
|
The Selene Owner’s
Party, put on by Selene Seattle at the boat show, is
becoming a popular tradition. Last year nearly sixty
brave Seleners gathered for a fun, albeit cold, evening
of food, drink and camaraderie to celebrate the new
Selene 59. The Boat Show Selene Owner’s Party was on
Friday February 1st just after the closing of the show.
We welcome all Selene owners, past, present and future
to attend.
We were honored this
year by the attendance of Howard Chen, his lovely
wife, Sheri and their daughter Angel.
Angel is known to all who attended the 2007 Selene
Rendezvous as an honorary winner in our Selene Photo
Contest. Click here for more information on the
Boat Show.
We were happy to see you
all there,
Happy Boating,
Selene Seattle |

|
Sasha
and Brian Calvert of Selene Seattle provided a Champaign
Toast for the Seleners to say Bon Voyage at a
“pre-party”. The next day we attended the official send
off party with crews from 52 attending yachts.
Our first report just
came and once again Mystic Moon is treated to a rare
whale sighting as two Blue Whales crossed their path.
Then next leg is the first of several over nighters to
Turtle Bay. We will keep you posted as the fleet moves
south.
The Del Rey Yacht Club
proudly presented FUBAR ODYSSEY '07 with the partnership
and support of Mexico's Tourism Board. This first
ever rally takes the fleet of powerboats from San Diego
to La Paz, escorted by vessels manned by experienced
skippers and with the key support people aboard such as
mechanics, doctors, paramedics and boat manufacturers
and by the makers of major marine engines, electronics
and equipment, etc. more... |

SIXTH ANNUAL SELENE RENDEZVOUS
APRIL 26-29, 2007 AT ROCHE HARBOR
Thirty-seven Selenes, several guest boats and nearly
200 people enjoyed the largest gathering of Selenes
in the world. With the typical swing of northwest
spring weather, we had it all, clouds, rain, and a
finale of two glorious sunny days. The signature
events of the Rendezvous are the daily seminars.
This year we started early with a full day of
intensive first aid. The second day featured
navigation classes, informative talks on our new
owner’s website and a remarkable talk on women’s
issues at sea. The last day our thoughts headed
south with two fantastic talks on the wonders of
cruising Mexico. The upcoming FUBAR cruise to
Mexico will have a good Selene representation.
Twenty-two venders displayed their wares in the
exhibition tent. The Selene owners enjoyed quality
time with the venders from ship yards, electronics,
furnaces, dinghies, lenders, insurance and more.
This part of the event is growing yearly and is
becoming one of the prime benefits for attending.
The
Grand Finale is the Saturday night Annual Awards
Dinner. Fun was had by all as we dispersed awards
ranging from most Selene Rendezvous attended to the
coveted “Kismo” award. This was the first year of
the Annual Selene Photo Contest. Eighteen
spectacular Selene photos were displayed. The
winners were given great prizes. Look next year for
an even better contest and prizes.
We
awoke to a spectacular sunny Sunday mourning as the
early birds left the dock. We bid bon voyage to
Selenes heading for Canada, Alaska, and the South
Seas. We wish all the Selene’s safe passage and
Happy Boating,
The
Selene Seattle crew.

2007 Boat Show Party |
Sixty hearty Selene owners gathered on a
cold January Seattle evening at the
dock party hosted by Selene Seattle
in honor of all of the great Selene
owners. Joining the large group
of Selene fans were the seven new Selene
owners at the boat show. The
Seattle Boats Afloat show was the
premier showing of the new 59 Selene,
quickly gathering three new orders at
the show. Again the Seattle Boat
Show had the largest display of Selene's
in the world. We thank our loyal
owners group for their continued
support.
Happy Boating,
Stacy, Jerry, Bob, Brad and Brian
